Fatsy, a grey British Shorthair, sitting next to his Labbvenn Vuku bowl

Tuesday

The new bowl arrived on a Tuesday. Fatsy approached it at the distance of approximately one metre, observed it for four minutes, and then walked away to reconsider near the radiator.

By Wednesday morning he had concluded that it was acceptable, with the qualification that the bowl should be positioned two centimetres to the left of where we had placed it, which he communicated by moving it himself and then sitting down next to it with the expression British Shorthairs use for everything.

He weighs 7 kilograms. The bowl weighs more.

We have not yet established how he moved it.

Fatsy is a British Shorthair. He is grey. He lives in a London mews flat and has strong opinions about the placement of objects.

The Vuku Ceramic Single Buffet — stoneware bowl, oak base — is available in black, cocoa, and white. Made to order in Europe.
